Driverless vehicles as weapons
Category: Bad Actors
Vehicles have been used as weapons in numerous cases, ranging from kamakaze attaccks during World War 2 to the 9-11 attacks in 2001. "Autonomous vehicles would potentially allow expansion of vehicular terrorism by reducing the need for driver recruitment, enabling single perpetrators to perform multiple attacks, even coordinating large numbers of vehicles at once." (Caldwell, et.al., 2020) This would force schools to expand their protections beyond existing measures against school shootings and other violent acts.
