How do we grapple with the idea that there is no simple set of ethical principles we can appeal to to determine whether an act is right or wrong? If we asked an AI to do it, the result would depend not just on 20 or so factors, but a huge number (60,000, say). But that's probably what we also do as humans, and also what we do as a society. And it is society - thought of as both individuals and groups - that trains AI. So if we want more ethical AI, we need to be a more ethical society. We discuss.
